What we can do for world peace

Peace education focusing on the history
of Hiroshima’s “reconstruction”

In Hiroshima men between the ages of 17 and 45 were drafted for war.
Because most of the men’s hands were taken, it was women who supported the reconstruction of Hiroshima at the time of the atomic bombing.
Among the catastrophic damage, they were not captivated by the hearts of resentment or hatred, they proceeded forward without looking forward, proceeding with hope, and recovering wonderfully.

Within 10 days since the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, the war ended.
Even in Hiroshima, which was destroyed by the atomic bomb, as electricity and transportation facilities were restored, people started rebuilding their lives by rebuilding houses with burned materials.

After the atomic bombing, it was said that “75 years in Hiroshima will not grow plants”.
However, red canna’s flowers bloom from among the burned gareki, people who saw this had courage and hope to live.

The city train restarted in just three days from the atomic bombing and the peace memorial park full of greenery, are now being handed down as symbolic existence of Hiroshima’s reconstruction.

Most books that convey Hiroshima have conveyed the world the misery of the atomic bombing caused by dropping the atomic bomb.
We tell everyone how the Japanese people at the time faced recovery, using “The Hiroshima Miracle” as a tool.
We hope that reading “The Hiroshima Miracle” will become to help everyone think about what you can do for yourself for peace.
